In this short interview with Arktos Journal I bring up Project 2025, about which I only started reading yesterday. It is a 900+ page document with 30 chapters and some 36 authors, with support from numerous conservative think tanks, institutes, and associations.
As far as I know, no one in the DR has said much about it. I made a few general points about it in the interview below. It is an incredibly detailed policy program. Its implementation would be very beneficial to the restoration of American/Christian identity, morals, and nationality. Below I bring up a few key points.
- It calls for the President to “implement an agenda… during the Administration’s opening days,” backed by “a well-conceived, coordinated, unified plan and a trained and committed cadre of personnel to implement it”.
- It calls for a “reversal” of “the long march of cultural Marxism through our institutions” and “restoration of the Republic” within two-years after coming to office. The reversal will move along the following 4 major broad fronts:
I. Dismantle of the administrative state. This will include reclassifying tens of thousands of federal civil employees as “political appointees” in order to take control thereby of the Department of Justice, FBI, Department of Commerce, and other departments, including the complete elimination of Homeland Security and Department of Education. Government institutions will be infused with “conservative Christian values” and “nationalism”.
II. This eradication of the cultural Marxist “administrative state” will come along with “restoration of the family” as the “centerpiece of American life”.
Project 2025 carefully explains that “the entire point of centralizing political power is to subvert the family” and break up “people’s natural loves and loyalties with unnatural ones”. It will start by “deleting the terms sexual orientation and gender identity, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
This project will thoroughly liquidate pornographers from society. Pornography is part of “the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children”.
Pornography “has no claim to First Amendment protection. Its purveyors are child predators and misogynistic exploiters of women.”
The product of pornographers “is as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime. Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.” “The noxious tenets of ‘critical race theory’ and ‘gender ideology’ should be excised from curricula in every public school in the country.” “Allowing parents or physicians to ‘reassign’ the sex of a minor is child abuse and must end.”
Moreover, “federal policy cannot allow” Silicon Valley executives including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms ———————— to “make billions of dollars addicting other people’s children and brake up the “children’s bonds with their parents and siblings”.
III. Project 2025 will “defend our nation’s sovereignty, borders and bounty against global threats”. The “Wilsonian order in which the ‘enlightened,’ highly educated managerial elite runs things rather than the humble, patriotic working families” — will be dismantled.
“America’s elites have betrayed the American people.”
“The solution to all of the above problems is not to tinker with this or that government program, to replace this or that bureaucrat…but ripping out the trees—root and branch. International organizations and agreements that erode our Constitution, rule of law, or popular sovereignty should not be reformed: They should be abandoned.”
Illegals will be repatriated.
IV. Project 2025 is also calling for a redefinition of the concept of individual rights in a way that fits with the Christian beliefs of the founders and their understanding of this concept.
“When the Founders spoke of ‘pursuit of Happiness,’ what they meant might be understood today as in essence ‘pursuit of Blessedness.’ That is, an individual must be free to live as his Creator ordained—to flourish.”
This is very important. “Our Constitution grants each of us the liberty to do not what we want, but what we ought.”
Project 2025 even uses the Platonic concept of “the good life” as contrasted to individual freedom to do as one wishes and desires without a sense of the good of the family and community.
The key to a “good life” “is found primarily in family—marriage, children, Thanksgiving dinners and the like”, in “religious devotion and spirituality”.
