I told you so. Years ago. I said that most people need absolutes. They need to believe in objective truth and a clear definition of right and wrong. They need to believe that men are men and women are women. They crave a religion that is protective of institutions they know to be the foundation of civilization. A religion that will stand up and call out nihilists and sexual libertines and deviants. If the dominant religion will not do this, another will step in to take its place. A religion with a backbone. A religion that will not court popularity by jettisoning its principles.
Christianity is no longer that religion. It is now the religion of SJWs, baby killers, bedhoppers, cowards and government lackeys. Nothing made this clearer than the behaviour of Christian clerics during the Covid scaredemic. Render unto Caesar became serve Caesar. Many even hectored their flock to get injected with an experimental “vaccine”. They were doing the government’s bidding. No wonder. They are on the government’s take. I hesitate to say “controlled opposition” because I don’t see much opposition coming from their ranks.
2000 years ago Paul predicted that there would be clerics who would “tickle the ears” of the flock to gain a following. They would tell them what they wanted to hear rather than what they needed to hear. Today they need to hear that transgender ideology is satanic, and that the popular culture is rotten to the core.
But they are so addicted to comfort and so afraid of rebuke and censure that they will not even stand up and speak out on behalf of their core values, the most important of which is the integrity of the family and the protection of the weak and defenceless, especially children. Jesus hated sin, but the Hollywood Jesus is non-judgmental; and inclusive. Money changers? Come on in! Newsflash. Jesus ain’t woke.
The United Church of Canada (aka the NDP in prayer) sold out long ago, but it seems that they now have lots of company. Who would have thought even 5 years ago that a Catholic school would expel a student for asserting that males and females are different? What then is a Catholic school for? What is Christianity for?
They have travelled so far down the road of compromise and prostitution that their credibility is irrecoverable. They are congenitally spineless. Useless.
Not so Islam. No turn-the-other-cheek shit from their quarter. That was evident on June 10th when Muslims showed up in force to support the protest against the trans agenda in front of Notre Dame school in Ottawa. Antifa was, at long last, put in its place. They were so intimidated that they didn’t dare show up when Muslim protestors demonstrated in front of another school in the area. After Trump was elected Antifa said “Let’s make racists afraid again”. Well now it’s Anifa’s turn to be afraid.
Imagine the shock in NDP headquarters. The Left thought they had Muslims in their pocket because of their stance on “Islamophobia”. But it turns out that Muslims are not on their page on social issues. They are not so keen about Drag Queens in classrooms, or “women” with penises in women’s changing rooms.
On the heels of these incidents in Ottawa I have come to question the Huntingdon characterization of the Christian/Islam divide as a “Clash of Civilizations”. It now seems to me that the clash today is between civilization and Cultural Marxists, with Islam now standing in as our guardian of last resort.
I don’t know about you, but I would prefer sharia law to the rule of sick tranny freaks, drug addicts, feminized men and women captured by the lie that fulfillment lies in the childless pursuit of a career. For eight in ten women that is simply not the case.
Christianity had its chance, but they blew their assignment. Josh Alexander and Bill Board Chris are exceptions to the rule, but they and their ilk are too few in number to make a difference. Western Christians aren’t players in this struggle. They’re MIA. Even most evangelicals are too meek and weak to fight back. That is what makes Pastor Derek Reimer of Calgary exceptional. He knows what a true Christian leader must do. We need 10,000 like him. But don’t hold your breath. If they exist, they are in hiding, too afraid to come out and speak out.
Islam is not my favorite brand of patriarchy. But patriarchy lite— contemporary Western Christianity—is a wimp.
